Chapter 28: The Big News

“Well? What did he do?!” Sophie screamed quickly.
“Well…do you REALLY wanna know?!” Becca asked stalling to add to the excitement.
“YES!” Jenny yelled.
“Okay…here’s what happened,” Becca started slowly, at first it seemed as if he probably wouldn’t fire her, but his mood soon changed. He sat yelling and then he was like ‘do you know how that feels?!?!’”
“AND?!??” Erin asked eagerly.
“He kept lecturing her on being strict, and not showing ANY mercy. So he decided to show her an example of mercy, and…let her stay…BUT he will fire her as soon as there is another complaint.”
“So he DIDN’T fire her?!” Sophie asked, surprised.
“Not yet, he’s giving her another chance.” Becca explained.
“Oh, I get it! He’s showing her mercy and maybe she’ll be more merciful to us!” Jenny said.
“Oh…I kinda get it now!” Erin said, but you could see some disappointment on her face.

“Really, I can name her, Mom?” Megan asked, feeling honored.
“Yes, I know I’ve put you through a lot lately, it’s the least I could do.” Megan’s mom said, putting her hand on Megan’s shoulder.
“Well, I’ll have to think, but I think I have a good one in mind.” Megan said as she bit her lip and glanced upwards.

“Everyone come to the school auditorium immediately.” a smoky voice said over the intercom.
“Ugh! I HATE super-intendant Barley’s voice!” Jenny said, giggling.
Once everyone was in the school auditorium, Principal Lockette went up to the podium to announce the news.
“Today…something wonderful has been donated, let’s give a hand to…”
