Chapter 20: How do you pray?

            Megan’s mom rushed into the room, and leaned over Megan. Her eyes started to tear up and she sobbed.

            “Mrs. Davis, I’m sorry, but Megan needs her rest! Say good-bye for now, maybe later you can go in and see her” the doctor said.

            “Okay.” Mrs. Davis said as she kissed Megan’s fore-head.

            Mrs. Davis and doctor Johnekee talked while Erin, Jenny, and Sophie started whispering.

            “I hope she’s all-right!” Jenny said.

            “Don’t we all…”
Erin said.

            Sophie nodded and said, “I wonder how long it will take for her to recover.”

            “Yeah, because we need to do her make-up!” Jenny said.

            “Yeah, I guess, let’s just pray.”
Erin said.

            Sophie and Erin closed their eyes, and
Erin began,

            “Dear Jesus, Please heal M-“

            “How do you pray?” Jenny asked.

            “You talk to God.”

            “…heal Megan, please, help her life not to be hard because of this disease, and help her mom and the new baby to be healthy as well, Amen”

            “Why do you close your eyes and fold your hands?” Jenny asked.

            “It helps you focus only on God. If you have your eyes opened, and are using your hands, you aren’t as focused on God.”
Erin said.

            “Yeah, well if you pray during school, you don’t have to, you can pray in your head, and still focus.” Sophie added.

            “What is the time limit on praying?” Jenny asked.

            “There is none! You can pray for as long or as quick as you want!”

            “Okay.” Jenny answered

            “Doctor Johnekee, come in here IMMEDIATELY!” his assistant ordered. He left Mrs. Davis, and she quietly sat down in a chair and took out a book and began reading.

            Doctor Johnekee came rushing out about twenty minutes later, he rushed straight for Mrs. Davis, with a worried look on his face.

            To her surprise, he walked straight past her to another patient.

            “Phew!” she thought.
